Problem with Scriblio Widgets

Hi. I love the idea and specifically being able to implement it.
Unfortunately, after 6-7 unsuccessful attempts I am pressed to write
to this group for help. I have wiped out all old attempts and I have
in the past 15 minutes:

1. Installed {last}WordPres 2.8.5
2. Made content folder writable

Trying to set up Scriblio with WordPress 2.8.5

Hello everyone!

I'm just getting into experimenting with Scriblio, but I'm
disappointed to say that I just can't seem to get it to work right.
I'm using WordPress 2.8.5 on a fresh install Debian box with Apache 2
and PHP 5, Mysql 5 - everything seems to work fine with the actual
WordPress installation, even those things that tend to frustrate you

I do think this answers my question - in that it sounds like the best
way to set up a different schema other than Markish is to use the CID
add-on as the basis for creating another plugin. This isolates the
customization into its own plugin, seperate from the rest of Scriblio

You're right that each array in the schema corresponds to a metadata field.
With Casey's help, we chose to develop CID as an add-on to Scriblio so that
we could be sure not to disrupt any of the core Scriblio functions and we

As I understand, Scriblio comes with the Marcish schema - and in your
case you added the CID schema plugin which was a customization for
your needs.

The CID schema was developed by adapting the Marcish schema from Scriblio to
our data model - defining each field and its behavior in the database. I'm
not sure what others have done, but I think that writing a schema for
another data model would primarily be a matter of defining the fields you

Thanks very much Casey - that sorts out all my plugin questions. I am
trying to figure out the full potential of Scriblio, but I am not very
advanced with PHP so most of it is still over my head. This covers a
big chunk of my questions though, so I am getting a little further
along everyday!

Lisa, sorry I missed that part of your question. And I can admit that the
number of Scriblio-related plugins can be quite confusing. I renamed most
all the accessory plugins recently, and that's a huge part of the problem.

Thanks Casey - that clears things up. I am still fuzzy about some of

I'm going to be in NYC on November 14-15 for WordCamp New York.
The session lineup runs through eight concurrent tracks, including one
specifically for academia. You might think the Scriblio session would be in
that track, but it's actually in the CMS track because the organizers think
it speaks to the general interest in managing structured data in WordPress.

Something broke in bSuite, causing that error. You should run the 4.0.6
version while I update both bSuite and Scrib for WordPress 2.8
compatibility.

Good to know: WP 2.8 brings support for that feature into core.

Alex,

I like your catalog. It looks like it's coming together nicely.

You can typically do a keyword search for any data that's part of the
record, including ISBN, Notes, Call Number, Place. The keyword index
includes the entire record, but as you type your search, you'll also
be prompted with any matches against the fielded metadata.

The current version hits Amazon, Google, and LibraryThing's Open Knowledge
Database if you enter all the API keys. I hope to expand it in time to
hit OpenLibrary (perhaps with round-trip data updates if their API
ever supports it).
I can imagine hitting a few other APIs in time, as well.

Is there a list some where of the "variety of bibliographic APIs" that
Scriblio OpenAmazOogleThing Connector enriches your catalog with?

Also, I am assuming Scriblio OpenAmazOogleThing Connector replaces the
Scriblio Catalog Enrichment plugin. Is that so?
