conversion_status time

I've built my own simple PHP CMS. The client uploads a PDF (typically
between 2-3MB) and I use the API to convert it to flashpaper for
display on the public website. What would be a safe period of time to
wait until trying to display the pdf on the public website? 1hr?

One hour is probably fine, but I would recommend that you check the
docs.getConversionStatus API before making the documents public:
