Hello all,

I purchased Screebl Pro v. 2.7.3 on my new Motorola Razr.

When using Screebl Pro, if I don't touch my phone for an extended
period, I have to force a reboot to wake it up. I have played around
with it for a while, but can't figure it out, but it's definitely
Screebl Pro (or interaction with another app).

Any thoughts or ideas?

Thanks,

Seth

Sounds very much like my recent experience. Does Screebl update itself
in the background? How could several of us have similar issues all at
the same time?

I'm not really sure, but am glad I'm not alone. For now, I just
disable Screebl Pro until someone comes up with an idea on how to fix
it.

Same problem here. I systematically began uninstalling apps until the
behavior stopped when I unloaded Screebl Lite. This is an unfortunate
situation, as Screebl has been the one app that has kept me sane when
trying to use android phones! I tried re-installing and tweaking the
in-pocket settings and screen timeout settings within the OS, but no
luck after three installs. I hope someone can figure out what's up.
I'd be happy to beta test or submit error logs from Screebl if it
helps resolves the problem faster.

I think I can say this happens only during low battery conditions. Why
that would matter, I have no clue.

To generalize, the position sensor fails, as does any means to do
screen input.

Has anybody heard from the developer? Seems scarce in his own forum.

If you're still interested, I've got a ground-up rewrite of Screebl that is in beta form on the Android Market.  Taking it slow on dropping this rewrite into the existing product, as there are many, many users for which current code base works very well.  Please let me know your experience with the beta.

Is the problem with No Lock fixed?

I've reached out to the NoLock dev, but have gotten no response.  You can potentially speed the process up by asking the dev of NoLock for integration with Screebl.

In the mean-time, there is a partial fix in the latest beta.  Look for a screebl configuration option aclled "Reset Activity Timer".  Turn this off, and you won't get the flashing, and inability to lock the phone.  The downside right now is that when you move out of an orientation range, Screebl can potentially lock your screen much quicker than you might normally like to happen.  Play with it and let me know what you think.

There are other options that I may be able to pursue without help from the NoLock dev, but they are more resource intensive (use more battery), so I'm holding off for now.  Basically I'd have to watch repeatedly for which apps are active, and if NoLock is running I'd need to change the way that Screebl acquires wake locks.

I'm still looking into things.

I unchecked reset activity timer and it appears to do the trick.  I’ll let you know if I run into any problems.  I’ve also contacted the developer of no-lock.

Thanks.
