Just as I'm starting out on some experiments, anyone else out there
interested in generating KML files for use in the browser-based google
earth?
This option only became known to me from this example:

My current rambling experiments (with links) can be viewed here:

Basically, google earth used to require you to download a kml file
onto your disk, and then open it in the binary app, which wasn't very
interesting or dynamic.
But now it seems you can run it directly from google maps and have the
link point to another link (eg a scraperwiki view) which generates the
file dynamically.
Anyone interested in helping with this stuff?
