Clicking compile error output pane ignores existing buffer

When I click on a compile error in the output pane, SciTE nicely opens a new buffer for that file and highlights the problem line. But often I have that file open already (since errors most often occur in the files that I am changing), and in this case SciTE opens a new buffer anyway. Is there any way to have SciTE look at the current set of open buffers, and if it sees that the buffer it wants is already open and available, to simply use that one instead of opening a new one? Thanks for your help.

That should not occur and does not for me.

ok, that's good to know. I forgot to mention that I'm running SciTE 3.2.2 (built locally) on Ubuntu 12.04. Are you on another OS, by chance?

Most of the time I use Windows 7. This works on Linux as well. There can be issues with paths on a case-insensitive file system or with non-canonical paths.
