Hi all. I have been following your posts for for a year or so now.
Im a 47 year old woman that has suffered migraines most of my life but
only in the last few years did I start getting SSs. which are always
very frightenting to me. I think my enormous fear of them is what has
driven my search for my cure,so to speak. Normally when I get one I
have no headache at all. Sometimes a migraine the next day. Mine
started getting so frequent that I was getting a few almost every
week. Once I even had 3 in one hour. I did alot of migraine research
on line after seeing a neurologist that after my insistance of a CT
scan, which was normal.wanted to put me on migraine meds. Im not a pill
kinda person. Anyhow, What I learned I had to share with you guys. It
has been so very helpful.I found out that Tyramine is a huge culprit
of migraines. Since eliminating it from my diet 3 months ago I have
not had one single aura for 3 months now ! And my migraines are much
less frequent as well. Just google search low tyramine diets and see
if it helps you as well.Im only posting because I know that this info
is going to help a whole lot of you guys. Good luck to you and I
really hope this is your answer to these scarey events as well. Susan

This is good news.

I may have posted this earlier but I have been SS free since Sept.
Last June my doctor recomended I have my vision checked. I was very
skeptical but was overdue for a new prescription anyway. I purchased
some very expensive transition lenses to handle both astigmatism and
myopia. The result is that I wear glasses much more often now. The SS
attacks disappeared almost as soon as I started wearing them.
I had maybe three since then and prior to that I was getting two or
three really bad ones a week.

I theorize that my visual cortex was overstimulated by the astigmatic
imagery coming in from the retina and this resulted in the strong
frequent CSD attacks.
