retinotopy map wanted

Does anyone have a good (laymans) resource for retinotopy? I'm
interested in recreating classical SS phenomena in an animation based
on CSD theory. Resources on the net seem to be vague and
contradictory
as to where the foveal neurons are located (back of head or near the
ears? I've seen both depicted!). I'm also interested in learning
about
the alternate V layers in the cortex as they seem to correspond to
the
multilight "glare" effects and spots that (in my experience) precede
the spreading "C" in V1.
