Hi folks
I'm Linda and I live in the north-west of England.
I was diagnosed with Meniere's about 6 years ago. Not long after that
I started having weird visual effects, which I now know are related to
migraine. They seem to occur in clusters and then go away and leave
me in peace for a while.
I was scared stiff as I was already having nystagmus which can occur
with Meniere's. As my left ear had suddenly switched off completely,
the fact that I was having visual problems as well was a real worry.
My optician was very helpful - he is a migraine sufferer and very
knowledgable on the subject. He suggested that as soon as I get the
very start of the symptoms, I take a couple of co-codamol and that
seems to cut it short.
It's only happened once when I was out and about. That was rather
frightening. When I am at home it's just a nuisance, if I'm trying
to read or work on the computer.
I love rainbows and geometric shapes, so it's actually like having my
very own free light show. :o)
