Subject: CDC: "Don't use a Lyme ELISA after 3 months after tick bite"

LOL.

Scanned in pages from the 1994 FDA meeting:
http://www.actionlyme.org/DENNIS_DEARBORN.htm

Here we see CDC officer Dave Dennis report that an ELISA is only good
for the first
3 months after tick bite.

Of course, the CDC is scrambling the meaning of the terms, while
they're at
it. There is no such thing as "sensitivity."
http://www.fda.gov/CDER/GUIDANCE/4252fnl.htm#P490_46292

There is "Specificity" and Limit of Detection":
["Specificity" or] Selectivity: The ability of the bioanalytical
method
to measure and differentiate the analytes in the presence of
components that may
be expected to be present. These could include metabolites,
impurities, degradants,
or matrix components.

Limit of detection (LOD): The lowest concentration of an analyte
that the bioanalytical
procedure can reliably differentiate from background noise.

But there is no "sensitivity" as a criterion for the validation of an
analytical method. Nevertheless, here the CDC states that ELISAs are
no good after
rhe first 3 months after a tick bite, and as we know, most Chronic
Lyme victims
are chronic because they're not diagnosed early (because chronic
fatigue is
seen as hypochondria, especially in females). This is from the 1994
June, FDA meeting
minutes when the discussion was about how they would qualify Lyme
vaccines:
