Sign the petition. They only have a thousand
signatures, speaking to how low is the reputation
of "physicians":

(Physicians are at least trainable, because
BigPharma and BigInsurance currently train them.

Subject: Today's Torture Commission Hearing
Date: Mar 4, 2009 5:16 PM
Dear Kathleen,
Physicians for Human Rights commends Judiciary Chairman Patrick Leahy
(D-VT) for holding a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing today on
establishing a nonpartisan "commission of inquiry" to investigate Bush
Administration interrogation and detention policies. PHR supports the
creation of a commission to investigate detainee abuse, particularly
the role of health professionals in the torture and abuse of
individuals in US custody. Read the statement PHR submitted to the
hearing and take action today.
For the 1000+ of you who have signed on to our petition in support of
a commission, thanks. For those who have not, let Senator Leahy and
the world know you support this commission by adding your signature to
the petition. We believe if we can get 10,000 people to sign this
petition, we will help create the political momentum needed to
establish this commission.
Committee Chairman Senator Leahy introduced the hearing by stating:
"We must not be afraid to look at what we have done, to hold ourselves
accountable as we do other nations who make mistakes. We must
understand that national security means protecting our country by
advancing our laws and values, not discarding them."
The American people and the victims of abuse deserve the truth; the
wrongs of the past must be uncovered, addressed and prevented from
recurring. Sign the petition today and support Senator Leahy as he
fights for human rights and accountabilty.
Sincerely,
Nathaniel Raymond
Director, Campaign Against Torture
