How to find the Fraunhofer-Institute:
=========================================================================== ===
Our building is located at 'Luisenplatz', the central square of the city.
The building is approx. 100 meters from the 'Ludwig-monument', a statue on the
top of a 15 meter pile. Usually it is really easy to find us.
The official German title of our institute is "Haus der Graphischen
Datenverarbeitung".
>From the Airport (approx. 30 km)
- --------------------------------
You land in the Frankfurt International Airport. You can come to Darmstadt
by bus, train, or taxi. We recommend the "Airliner Bus Service"
departing form the airport, bus station no. 14, located between
the Hall B and the Sheraton Hotel. Departures are every day
between 4.45-22.15 every hour or every 30 min. Arrives Darmstadt
Luisenplatz (end station); costs one way 11.50 DM; no charge for
luggage, tickets available from driver. Time: approx. 30 min.
Taxi costs approx. 70-80 DM, time: 20-30 min.
Rental cars available at the airport. Take Autobahn A5 (freeway, blue color)
to Darmstadt, after approx. 25 km take exit Darmstadt "Stadtmitte". After
approx. 5 km you will see the Ludwig-monument in the middle of
Luisenplatz.
Train: take train from the lower level of the airport to "Frankfurt
Hauptbahnhof". Purchase ticket from the FVV machines BEFORE BOARDING.
One ticket is valid all the way to Darmstadt on FVV. IC and EC trains
require supplements. At Frankfurt board to Darmstadt (FVV trains are
designated as S12 and require no supplement). At Darmstadt purchase
bus/tram ticket (DM 2,-) from machine or driver. Take bus D or F,
or tram no. 3 in front of the station to Luisenplatz.
Total time: 1 to 1.5 hours
Accomodation
=========================================================================== ===
Accommodation is NOT included in the registration fee. Participants
must take care of their own reservations. Below you will find a
list of hotels in the neighborhood. Darmstadt is a rather
small city, so most of them are within walking distance.

the "Visitors Office" of Darmstadt, tel: +49/6151/1327 82 + 83.
