Dear All. First time I have approached such an unusual problem. I have LCQ Advantage (ion trap), and when I record TIC from the very begging of turning on the machine I see background dropping down from 1e5 to 4e4 in 5min, then going up again to 1e5 in 3-4min. While awaiting the delivery of an Agilent GC/MS system and NIST 08 MS library, I'm getting familiarized with the AMDIS/MSSearch and other MS SW programs and packages. I'm not very familiar with mass spectras and have a question. My lab is having a problem with one substance co-eluding with another substance. I have been told to use the software program on the computer to subtract one mass spectrum from another to get the desired mass spectrum. I haven't used mass spectrum in other chemical fields... more »
