Here's one possibility I came across on Amazon, but I'm not familiar
with it, so any comments on it would also be appreciated.
Intermediate Statistics: A Modern Approach (Paperback)
by James P. Stevens (Author)
Price: CDN$ 71.61 & this item ships for FREE with Super Saver
# Paperback: 448 pages
# Publisher: Lawrence Erlbaum; 3 edition (Jul 5 2007)
# Language: English
# ISBN-10: 0805854665
# ISBN-13: 978-0805854664
I'd certainly also be open to any good books that cover both stats &
research methods (e.g., counterbalancing, etc). A book like that
could be used for two courses, which would be another way to reduce
costs for students.
Thanks,
Bruce

This is in Google Books, which presumably means students could avoid
even buying it at all if they so wished.
