Abductive or Polynomial Neural Networks are american names of the approach
known in the world as Group Method of Data Handling. PNN were introduced by
Roger Barron in the early 70th. A set of effective input variables, number
of layers and neurons in hidden layers and optimal model structure are
determined automatically, during self-organisation of inductive GMDH
algorithms.

GMDH is self-organizing approach based on sorting-out of gradually
complicated models and evaluation of them by external criterion on separate
part of data sample. Not only low-ordered polynomials but also non-linear
functions, or non-parametric analogs or clusterizations are used for sorting.
