The "2012 Planet X" crowd is going to go have a field day over this one.

Fortunately I still have all my unopened survival gear from that run-up to Y2K in 1999..... ;)

If the planet was kicked out of its solar system, it MUST be because it
is actually a prison planet, full of unwanted criminals that the
original solar system kicked out. When they arrive on earth, they will
spread their evil and take control of all governments. I've seen enough
Star Treks to know this will happen.

Hopefully this will happen before Capt Kirk dies so he can cruise one of
the alien planet females and use his charm to convince the female to
turn against her own and protect Earth.

Or it could be Khan that is coming back for revenge. Remember that
history shows that Khan left earth in the 1990s. :-)

On the other hand, they talk about a gas giant. As I recall, when V'ger
came back, he was also protected within what looked like a large gas giant.

I think NASA better start working on their titanium shuttles with the
winglets so they can send Bruce Willis and his team up to blow that
planet up before it reaches Earth :-) (And that also means retrofitting
one of the LC39 pads to handle 2 simultaneous shuttle launches side by
side) and building an in-orbit shuttle refueling facility since Mir
isn't there anymore :-)

Seriously though, if a planet is not heated by a nearby sun but is still
hot enough to keep gases in gaseous form, would this imply continued
volcanic activity at the core ?
