A rocket is a rock propelled by hot gas, not thrown into space. A
critical time in launch occurs at 65 miles high.

A thrust per lbs of rock and fuel must increase. This is delta-vee.

It is caused by true general relativistic effects in gravity fields.

A disposable two pair of side thrustors. MUST BE, designed for this
altitude. Undersized thrustors are evident on the larger design shown
here.

Ejecting the two side thrustors and increasing the throttle on the
main motors must occur at 65 miles.

A side thrustor to small means a larger main motor! It is a hidious
weigh penalty.

The huge rocket ill designed can be so inefficient a well designed
ARES-1X would suffice.

Throttle ability of the single stage to 65 miles means best delta vee
efficiency ability.

Ejecting stage one at 25 miles means an oversized stage 2.
