I've waited with anticipation for this type of newsgroup for quite a while!

Let me be one of the first to throw out a question: I seem to remember one
of the parachutes fouling on Apollo 15. Is my memory accurate and if so, what
caused the problem?

In article <555r3u$8...@vixen.cso.uiuc.edu>,

It was Apollo 15. It was determined after landing that residual propellant
from the reaction control system (RCS) engines, vented during the final
minutes of the flight, probably burned through several riser lines causing the
parachute to fail (Source: Baker, The History of Manned Space Flight, revised
ed., 1985, pp 424-425)

That should have been "I could NOT locate...."! I'll try again
when I have more time.
