...Anyone been able to log onto nasaspaceflight.com in the past couple
of days? Site's apparently down, which has me wondering if all those
who got suckered into that overpriced "L2" access got screwed even
worse.

I just went there, read some forum articles; appears the site's up
and running. A few days back I had some problems accessing them, but
not recently.

Don't know about L2. I don't subscribe to that part of the site.

I had DNS problems trying to access them using OpenDNS. When I zeroed out
the static IP DNS addresses in my router and reverted to the ones provided
by my ISP, the site worked fine.

If that's the second biggest, what's the biggest strike?

What is wrong with charging a subscription fee for a service rendered?

That is how newspapers work. And magazines. And cable TV. Etc.

...Ed, I have problems with it because they're charging for
disseminating info that we taxpayers have already paid for, and
they're overcharging for it at that. *NO* news site is worth the
$100.00 a year they want, and what they're offering isn't -that- much
more than the other news sites have been offering. In fact, a lot of
the PDF documents they want you to charge for, Rusty can find for
free(*) with a little effort.

...And to put one more nail in their L2 scam, there's this major beef:
in a time when we need to be drumming up all sort of support for
Ares/Orion/Constellation/CEV, all the pretty whiz-bang pictures,
spreadsheets and PowerPoint slideshows need to be *FREELY*
disseminated to make sure as many people as possible get to see what's
going on and what to expect.

(*) Shit, if I were into paying for that kind of info, I'd consider
giving a few bucks to Rusty for his troubles. However, he doesn't have
a great pair of fake tits, and can't shake his ass worth a frack,
so...

Until you realize that CAPITALISM pays for EVERYTHING you have, then
you are doomed to continue to belong to the socialist enigma that is
the space industry in the USA.
I guess we need the Russians to teach us how to make a buck at this.
