recent times making Clinical Research as one of the most lucrative
career avenue. India is fast emerging as a preferred destination for
conducting global clinical trials and is expected to conduct nearly 5%
of all global clinical trials in next 5 years.
Though clinical research is becoming a lucrative career option for
pharmacy, bio-tech, life-sciences and medical post-graduates and
graduates, an unmet need of clinical research training exists at the
level of individual curriculum. Hence, the potential aspirants have
to look for alternate sources for obtaining training on clinical
research processes. This has led to a mushrooming of self-styled
clinical research training institutes in India and a situation of
confusion in the mind of training aspirants about the selection of a
reliable institute/training program. This article presents an overview
of the clinical research training initiatives taken by various
institutes/ organizations in India and aims to serve as a guidance
document for the training aspirants.
