Hello.
I am a high school student and live in Japan.
Recently, I am thinking about my future.
For example, what I wanna study in the college or school.

I am interested in "psychology" because I like human beings.
I wanna see various person and study various things.

And I like drawing a picture and watching it.
I heard about "art-therapy" in the past.
So, I am interested in it just now.

Where can I study art-therapy?
(There is no school which we can learn it in Japan.)
If you knew about the college or school which teach it,
please tell me about it in detail.

I think that "therapy"is very important in our life.
Even if I couldn't become therapist, I wanna learn about it.

Well, I am looking forward to be sent a answer from someone.

Sincerely yours,

Ami

Ami-san,

Some therapists learn about this therapuetic device at workshops, where they're
taught to understand the significance of the objects the artist projects.

Or perhaps if you're more interested in interacting with MH Consumers with Art
in mind you might want to train as an occupational therapist. They get to do
the fun stuff without the major restrictions (and headaches) imposed as being a
psychotherapist.

If you're familiar with MH Day Treatment, you'll know that "Leisure activities"
is a mainstay. It encompasses many forms of Art from ceramics, to textile work.

I do know my local medical school has such a programme (typically refered as
Allied Health). The pay isn't as much, but at least you'll enjoy your job and
help someone in the process.
