Puncture Resistance: HDPE vs. PP

What is the opinion of the group regarding the ability to
withstand puncturing by needles, HDPE vs. PP.

More specifically, what would be the most appropriate
selection of material for a blow moulded container used mainly for the
disposal of used medical syringes, PP or HDPE? They are currently made
using both, but shouldn't one have advantages over the other?

Please provide some backup for your recommendation.
