What is time? Flow and moving parts

A clock requires cyclic moving parts but time is part of them.
Time flows over these moving parts in space. That is how time is in a
clock.
If time were not in a clock a clock could not measure the time
flow property.

Time is not a physical thing. Time is a social construction used to
measure the motion of the earth around the sun, much like money or the
theory of human races.

Well, it was at one time, but this doesn't mean that we haven't learned
that there is more to it than we thought. See the 2nd law of
thermodynamics, for example.
