In other words, could both throats of a TW wormhole be the same place? Is that a valid solution to GR? I'm not even trying to figure out how such a thing could come about, or be built.... but does the math work?

Why throats?
Why not assholes?

When Wormholes have throats,
they must have something on the other side.

Topology isn't physics.

Of course it works, I just leaned back in my chair, went through one and I was back at my desk instantly. I was beside myself with joy, but Joy took a left turn at Albuquerque and got the carrot Bugs left for dinner.

Perhaps this book would be of interest to you:
"Lorentzian Wormholes: From Einstein to Hawking"

I carried several Hawking books to the waste paper dump for recycling.
Hawking's work is toilet paper now, and that's where it belongs.

One small booklet still lurks somewhere
which I kept 'cause it's in English.

We don’t recycle toilet paper in England, we leave that to the
sewage plant.

Thank you. I won't be returning to this newsfroup again because
it's obviously gone to pot. 7 replies and only one even tangentially
on topic.

I though Wormholes were attributed to Weyl. At least that's what Wheeler told me.

In a sense all wormholes would be like that. IOW, the whole of spacetime is part of the wormhole. Wormholes are in the realm of mathematical fantasy, IMO. I could be wrong.
