Martian collagen fibril fossils in Journal of Science

The world-renowned Journal of Science published the following figure,
which contains several Martian collagen fibril fossils. The figure was
imaged with atomic force microscope aboard NASA’s Mars Phoenix Lander.

The strangest thing about this all is that Science didn't mention these
collagen fibers from Mars, while they are so clearly observable.

I wonder why is that...
Are they covering up, again? Like with area 51?
Maybe the Martians already invaded Earth, spreading their nanoprobes.
