This must be an effect of US elections - perhaps a Republican "dirty tricks"
group?
Like Ross Perot and Bill Clinton I ask you to stick to the issues of
physics and not spin your wheels, and masturbate in public, by slinging
mud in character assassinations etc.
The new James Gleick book on Feynman that I have been giving you samples
of is a great way to focus on fundamental questions in physics - and it is
at a level that the students among us can comprehend without advanced math.
It also provides a historical context to see that great minds like Einstein,
Wheeler, Feynman, Hoyle and others have taken the idea of advanced effects
very seriously.
I applaud Paul Budnik's postings, and John Baez's and others who have
stayed focussed on issues.
The best way to supress crackpot ramblings is "heal thyself" - stick to
the issues of physics, do not make personal attacks - and all will profit.

Uh, John Baez is the *inventor* of the Crackpot Index.
Now back to your regularly scheduled discussion of issues.

Matt McIrvin, posting nonsense again
Actually, I thought is was more like the Democrats trying to repackage
the same old liberal policies with new rhetoric and empty promises:
EINSTEIN WAS WRONG/FTL/FREE ENERGY!
After all, its only that small, elite group of scientists sitting
smugly on top of the intellectual establishment that will be affected
by our new theories; the everyday working man will see nothing but
an improved lifestyle, better jobs, etc., etc., etc.....

Hmmm... funny you should mention that.
(the humor impaired may insert smileys as needed :-))
