Alfven waves are considered longitudinal but there should also be a
wave in the direction of motion, a transversal wave. Why isn't this
mention in the same context since them occur simultaneous?

Almost identical expressions to the Alfven wave are possible to
determine by observing the expressions for magnetic pressure and
tension and assuming that the magnetic field is frozen into the
plasma.

Frozen in magnetic fields can not always be assumed, E. A. Witalis,
Phys. Plasmas 10, 747 1968 http://www.iop.org/EJ/abstract/-search=3D2353048=

Will the Ramsauer effect only be possible in rotating plasma where
magnetic field lines are not frozen in? It seems like quantum
mechanics is not sufficient to determine when Ramsauer or low/null
resistivity collision free current can be possible in a plasma.
