It seems as though smaller galaxy are more dominated by CDM.

Odd, since these object's genesis is near the core of a galaxy,
and the central region of spiral galaxies is *devoid* of CDM. I
don't think "well this is why it is devoid of CDM" is a
particularly satisfying answer...

I think it has been historically the case that when science is on the
wrong track the properties of the proposed theory become more and more
odd, until eventually the theory is discarded (e.g. phlogiston).
