Several positions (BAT IIa/2) for graduate (Ph. D. ) students are available
at the Institute of Physical and Theoretical Chemistry at the " Freie
Universitaet Berlin". The research topics include quantum-dynamical
simulations of ultrafast
processes in molecules, clusters and at surfaces. A central aspect will be
further development of new or existing computational methods, and their
application to current problems in femtochemistry. Applicants should have
completed their undergraduate studies in physics or chemistry and should be
experienced in scientific computing.
The projects are part of the program "Time-dependent phenomena and methods
in quantum systems of physics and chemistry" (SPP 470) of the German
research council (DFG). The projects are carried out in close collaboration
with other theoretical and experimental groups both in Germany and abroad. A
variety of modern computing facilities are available used (parallel
computing, visualization on graphics workstation, etc )
