The Marine Corps Research University (MCRU) is a Penn State organization
that matches the capabilities of the University with the educational,
research and technical assessment requirements of the Marine Corps.
Develop, aid in the execution and be programmatically responsible for
selected education/research projects within the colleges of the
University or the Applied Research Laboratory. Requires Master`s degree
or equivalent in technical fields preferred, plus five years of
work-related experience. Knowledge in working with an academic
institution, the requirements definition process of the DoD and at least
one of the military services (preferably the Marine Corps), organization
of the DoD, the federal legislative process in regards to authorization
and appropriation processes, and the federal acquisition process. Be
fluent in the organization, roles and missions of the Marine Corps and
have experience as project manager within the Department of Defense
(DoD), academia or industry on projects of significant (>$1M) size.
Qualified applicants should have a thorough understanding of the DoD
Planning, Programming
and Budgeting System (PPBS) and be able to obtain a DoD security
clearance. Experience with standard electronic project and budget
management practices required. THIS IS A FIXED-TERM POSITION FUNDED FOR
ONE YEAR FROM DATE OF HIRE WITH EXCELLENT POSSIBILITY OF RE-FUNDING.
