I am compiling a list of Marine Corps and Naval
Infantry around the world. Please make any additions, suggestions,
and feedback. Interesting to note that Australia; Canada;
Germany; Japan; Israel and New Zealand don't have any amphibious
capabilities presently when some did during WWII.
I am also including a ranking of countries by the number of Marines
and a geographic listing (most are in Asia and South America).

Good list, thanks. I was kind of surprised that the Japanese Maritime
Self-Defense Force doesn't still have their Special Landing Force. They
weren't actually a separate armed force and didn't even wear a different
uniform than the Navy....except a specialty badge I think. For some reason,
I thought they were still part of the JMSDF in the 60's.
Guess I was wrong.
