Subject: Symptom Search

Howdy!  Two things:

-I'm looking for a website that would produce a list of possible
diagnoses based on input general symptoms.  I think I've searched pretty
thoroughly and can't seem to find anything useful.
http://www.symptoms.com comes close, but seems to have several
structural glitches.  Anyone have any pointers?  If not, anyone
interested collaborating to develop such a service?

-Can anyone say what the possible diagnoses are for having scattered red
bumps of varying sizes on the back of the tongue with no other visible
symptoms?  They aren't sore and it does not hurt to swallow, though the
throat is a little sore.  Could they be the result of burns from a hot
liquid?  Could they be from sleeping in warm, dry air?

Any help much appreciated!

Thanks,
Chris

There's really no website that does what you're looking for.
There are only a handful of reasonably comprehensive diagnostic
software packages which are quite pricy to purchase and are not
likely to have anything matching your observation.

As too the little red bumps, are you sure they are not the normal
papillae that we all have?  Check the tongues on a couple close
friends.

Cheers,

JPS

If you're right, I find it QUITE amusing that I'm discovering my
papillae on an Internet newsgroup.  :)

Thanks,
Chris

Chris,  this is why it'll probably take computers a long time to catch
up to clinicians.  You might simply be describing normal taste buds.
Your family doctor could answer this question for you with a simple
