Cataract operation and double vision

Does anyone know if a cataract operation will affect my double vision -
favorably or not? I'd hate to have my prism glasses no longer control it
until I get new ones.

If it matters, the other eye already has had a cataract operation many
years ago.

I suspect there will be no effect.
