I would like to change careers (have BS, MBA) to healthcare, perhaps someone can assist. Does anyone know of any programs in the North Carolina(Charlotte)/South Carolina area that offer a Radiology Tech program?
I have no clue how long a program might be, how expensive, and how much one can earn the first and second year.
Thanks for any assistance.
Joe

Suggest you contact: www.asrt.org and www.arrt.org as they are good places to start.
With that background you may be able to enter into a radiology extender program. Suggest inquiries to the above and to www.acr.org
Good luck.

Most of the programs are at Community Colleges, although there are a few hospital based programs out there. A very few 4 year programs. CC programs are a combination of classroom & clinicals in local hospitals & free standing centers. They run 2 years continuous including summers. (Only breaks are the end of semesters, spring, Holdiay etc). Once you complete the course of study, you take the national board (ARRT) exam. Even if your state does not require the exam (Nevada for example), it is required to work in acredited facilities so it's best to take it regardless. www.arrt.org Registry www.asrt.org Professional society This next one is a free publication. I think they ran a compensation study a while back. It may be on their website. http://www.advanceweb.com/publications.asp?pub=XT
