I'm 23. I run everyday. Which consists of 7 min 30 sec at 9 mph at a
1.5 to 2 incline on a treadmill. (indoors) and for about 30 to 45
minutes when I run outside. Somedays I run indoors and others
outdoors. I then do 3 sets of 50 crunches, 3 sets of 30 push-ups and
100 to 120 reps on an ab wheel. Everyday. I'm 6 ft and fluctuate
between 165 to 168 lbs. Now, my diet consists of eating a lot of
fruit:
strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, bananas, cantelope, pine apple,

etc; Restricting my fluids to mostly water and soy milk; and eating a
lot of cereal. I usually go for whole grain cereal. I do eat vegetables

as well. Also, I generally limit myself to three meals a day. But I'm
more
interested in the thoughts on a fruit/cereal diet based around the
previously
mentioned exercises. If it is not preferred, what is?

Your asking this question in the wrong forum. This is a forum of mostly
diet Geeks trying to control their lives with managing food and little
exercise. You'll get whacko's like TC that will tell you low carbs and
ketosis and others tilting at their windmills, aka agenda.
For those that exercise your need balance. I see minimal to zero fats,
even the good ones. Since your running is in the low range you're
probably fine. If you wanted to run or exercise longer you would need
some extra carb calories - a sport drink of carbs and some fats. Even if
you don't need the calories while running they will help you recover
faster.

Could cause problems with getting complete proteins and fat soluble
vitamins.

"If I have fruit for lunch I always have some nuts with it. Is this
enough for protein and fat soluble vitamins? It might be short of some B
vitamins like B12, but you won't get malnourished from lunch to dinner."

The question is if the nuts are complete proteins and enough of protein.
What are you trying to achieve with this diet? Eating a wide variety of
foods of all kinds achieves nutrition and health goals, narrow range
consumption is asking for problems, such as vit 12 as you have already
considered.

If I just eat fruit for lunch I'm still hungry. I am trying to widen
my food choices, (I don't eat meat) so I think nuts should be included.
The aim of the diet is weight stability. I am also encouraged by
reports of life extension by calorie restriction, but if you're not
careful with this you won't even live as long. I thought there were
some long term monkey experiments with calorie restriction. How are
they getting on?
