Subject: Derogatory Crap on Hives in the Courant

I have had massive 14 inch+ bleeding-out hives that are associated
with very wet,
very heavy edema and vascular blow outs. This is not simple itching
and the bleeding
out is not the result of scratching. It turns black and blue and
yellow UNDER THE
SKIN.
If they give me epinephrine to prevent me from going into shock
because my limbs
are so swollen that I can move a joint, or my arms look like Popeye's
but this
is all water, I am hardly being a "nervous" person.
It's too bad the Courant can not find anyone with a brain cell to do
this kind
of research.
I really can't stand this derogatory crap. No matter what illness
sign we have,
they always want to deploy the psychiatric sex pervs.
Sorry, Bucks, but every time you try to deploy this psychiatric
bullshit, I am going
to hit it, and repost it to my website, since the rest of the world
finds American
Psychiatric Bullshit more entertaining than Hollywood ever thunk up:

Chronic Autoimmune Hives ain't psychiatric when it produces such
massive edema
and vascular blow outs that it requires epinephrine to prevent a
person from going
into shock.

The Brain And The Itch
Scratching Affects Emotion, Behavior
By JEAN P. FISHER
McClatchy Newspapers
February 19, 2008
Ah, that's the spot.
Everyone with an itch -- or a dog -- knows how blissful it is to
scratch, and how
hard it can be to stop.
Now, researchers at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in
North Carolina
think they know why. In a first-ever study, the scientists used
imaging technology
to look at what happens in the brain when we scratch. They found that
scratching
actually suppresses brain activity associated with bad feelings and
memories. Giving
in to itch also stimulates parts of the brain associated with
compulsive behavior
-- something that could explain why some of us keep at it even when we
know we shouldn't.
Doctors advise against scratching, which can damage the skin.
The average person with a mosquito bite probably doesn't need to know
all that,
acknowledges Dr. Gil Yosipovitch, a dermatologist and itch specialist
who led the
Wake Forest team.
But he said the new findings, which were published online Thursday in
the Journal
of Investigative Dermatology, may point the way to new treatments for
the itchiest
among us -- people with hives, poison ivy and chronic conditions such
as eczema and
psoriasis. Severe itch is also a misery for cancer and kidney
patients, who develop
itch as a side effect of treatment.
Knowing what parts of the brain are involved in itching and scratching
may suggest
medications known to target the same parts of the brain, for example.
"I see these patients in real life," said Yosipovitch. "There are
millions of them, and they suffer."

Do you seriously deny that stress doesn't contribute to disease,
affect the immune system and that there is even such a thing as
psychosomatic illness? Despite all the evidence and studies to the
contrary?
I understand your hostility to psychiatry although you are an example
of someone who clearly needs psychiatric help, medication and
intervention including institutionalization.
Your irrational diatribes against so many things inevitably make your
views easy to dismiss. Not to mention the hate spew that you insist on
including in titling posts and which is probably 90% of your website
which at least in title purports to be about Lyme.
Anything of value that you might have to say or contribute is
inevitably lost by your hyperbole, hate spew and irrationality. I have
actually not seen any evidence of anything that you might have to
contribute but some people say that you do. In any event all is lost
because of the things I mention above.
And I will continue to change the title of your posts when you insist
on cross posting and including offensive hate terms in those titles.
Post on topic and stop cross posting and your posts will be permitted.
Otherwise I will continue to bury them.
