Stanford psychiatrist target of U.S. Senate inquiry

Alan Schatzberg, chairman of the Psychiatry Department at Stanford
Medical School
and president-elect of the American Psychiatric Association, is the
target of a
congressional inquiry of his income from drug companies, according to
U.S. News
& World Report.
Physicians often receive income from pharmaceutical companies, which
they then report
to their universities.
But the Senate Finance Committee, led by Sen. Charles Grassley of
Iowa, the ranking
Republican member, found an alleged $70,000 discrepancy between the
drug company
income Schatzberg reported to Stanford and what he received from the
companies.
Grassley also questioned the rigor of Stanford's income-reporting
guidelines,
noting that faculty only have to report "more than $100,000 worth of
stock
ownership," while Schatzberg owns $6 million of stock in company
called Corcept.
"Obviously, $6 million is a dramatically higher number than $100,000,"
Grassley said in the Senate on Monday, according to the magazine.
"We believe that Dr. Alan Schatzberg ... has fully complied with the
university's
rigorous conflict-of-interest policy," the university said in a
statement to
the magazine.
Any discrepancies were likely "misunderstandings" due to "differences
in record keeping," according to Stanford. The university was also
aware of
the amount of Corcept stock Schatzberg owns.

2) All evidence shows that Dr. Schatzberg made no deliberate effort
to circumvent disclosure rules. He had the stock IN HIS OWN NAME. As
a former licensed series 7 broker and professional equities traded, I
can tell assure you that there are a multitude of ways to convolude
stock ownership. Any person who had a nefarious intent would
certainly NOT leave the shares with their own name listed as owner.

Kathy, you really should seek some mental help. Look at what you've
done to your family and your own life. That hole can not be filled by
conspiracy theories, antisemitism, or slandering good people.

Wrong, It has a great deal to do with Lyme disease, as these
false medical doctors are used to slander and libel sick people
as they have done with Gulf War Illness veterans.
I realize that you are very frightened of the truth coming out
but the truth of the Lyme crimes actually has nothing to do
with me. I was not around, for instance, when Steere was in
Europe.
There will be clarity on what exactly psychiatry is. It is
falling apart before our eyes and psychiatrist knows it.
This last event regarding the future president of the APA
being a lying whore for BigPharma is not going away
any time soon, since it follows on the heels of the NYT
story of the psychiatrist whoring for "bipolar" in
children.
All of that was a terrible blow to their credibility, as should
occur, if we Lyme victims are to be freed from this
psychiatric abuse.
Ask yourself a question:
Why doesn't ILADS ever say anything scientific or about
the nature of the testing fraud in Lyme Disease?
Because to show what is SCIENTIFICALLY VALID
would necessarily result in ILADS going down, because
so many of them are psychiatrists- none among whom
will admit that what they practice is hardly scientific
or medical.
