Now the tooth is on the other foot

After dispensing a bunch of advice. I'm having tooth 14
removed, on Monday. It has a cavity down to the root, and is
also cracked to below the gumline.

Now's my chance to be a patient.

I'll try to be courageous. I can't promise success, though!

Took an hour and a half, or so. To my surprise, I didn't
feel the two halves of the tooth come out. They sent me home
with a cold pack, and no Rx for pain pills. Just to take
ibuprophen, which I did. No Rx for antibiotics, either.

Unlike an earlier oral surgon, they didn't even give me a
paper tiny cup with four Advil, to get me down the road.

It healed, some. Still a bit tender on that side (Dec 22 as
I write and th extraction was Dec 07). I can't get too
worried about it. I can still eat, talk, drivel endlessly on
Usenet. Life goes on.
