Jesus Christ is God
-------------------
This statement is the bedrock of Christianity. It is dogmatic. It is
uncompromising. No religion and no organization, spiritual or
secular, has any exclusive claim to that statement. Christianity is
not a religion... it is a person - Jesus Christ.
While on earth, He said, "I and my Father are one." (John 10:30) "I
am the way, the truth, and the life, no man cometh unto the Father but
by me." (John 14:6) "...I am the resurrection, and the life: he that
believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live and whosoever
liveth and believeth in me shall never die." (John 11: 25b, 26a).
Why did God become a man? Answer: To make it possible for everyone to
be forgiven for all their sins. Since Jesus is God. He is perfect.
He volunteered to be crucified so that He could pay the penalty for
sin once and for all time. All of your sins were place on Him, along
with the sins of President Bush, and the sins of Senator Kerry, and
the sins of The Pope, and the sins of Billy Graham, and the sins of
Saddam Hussein and on and on and on. But it is the responsibility of
each person to choose to receive Jesus Christ as the only way to be
forgiven of their sins. God will not tolerate the slightest addition
or subtraction. It is not Jesus Christ plus or minus this or that, it
is Jesus Christ PERIOD.
What proof is there that this is true? No one can do anything to
become a Christian. Every Christian, to be a Christian, must be born
of God. If you have not been born again you are not a Christian. To
an outstanding, morally good Jewish religious leader Jesus said,
"Marvel not that I said onto thee (singular), Ye (plural) must be born
again." (John 3:7) "...Except a man be born again, he cannot see the
kingdom of God."(John 3:3b) "...if any man be in Christ, he is a new
creature..." (II Corinthians 5:17)
If you would like to know that all your sins are forgiven, that you
have a place reserved in heaven, and know personally the living God,
Jesus Christ, just invite Him into you life. It is as simple as
opening a door. It is believing and receiving. "Behold, I stand at
the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I
will come in to him, and will sup with him and he with Me."
(Revelation 3:20) In your own words invite Him into your heart. He
will give you not only eternal life but an abundant, joyful, and
purposeful life right now. You will love Him and His book, the Bible,
the one that is tried and true - thee, thou, ye and you. You will
love others and you will want to please Him in all you do.
A wonderful promise, but a fearful warning. "He that believeth on the
Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not
see life: but the wrath of God abideth on him." (John 3:36)
May God bless you now that you understand His birth as the Son of man
and celebrate Christmas. May His peace be with you. (John 20:21)
