The really bad stuff, especially pulmonary fibrosis and hyopthyroidism are
"catachable" if the patient is monitored. It helps if the patient is being
treated in
the context of a complete health care environment where the pharmacist that
dispenses the amiodarone is alert and inquistive about changes in the
patient's health and or
compliance, the GP makes time for regular visits and physical exam/ lab work
and that
the patient has access to a cardiologist for intervention when something
goes wrong
