     The Fall 1994 Southern California Topology Colloquium
will be held at UCLA on Saturday, December 10.  The program is:

     11:00 Tom Mrowka and/or Cliff Taubes:
        Introduction to Seiberg-Witten invariants

     12:00  Lunch at the Student Union Coop (or suitable alternative)
      1:00  Tom Mrowka (Caltech):
         The Thom Conjecture

      2:30  Cliff Taubes (Harvard):
         Symplectic 4-Manifolds are Irreducible

      4:00  Peter Teichner (UCSD):
        New Groups which are Good for 4-Dimensional Topological          
        Surgery

      5:30  The Customary Festivities
All talks will be held in the Math-Sciences building, room MS 6627.
