Babbitt metal and PET

Hello, folks!
I was researching babbitt metals for use in bushing-bearings, and noticed that none advertised on materialweb were stronger or more resilient than PET (polyethylene terphthalate).
PET has a higher elongation-to-break, higher tensile strength, higher compressive strength, lower coefficient of friction, and comparable stiffness compared to all babbitt metal formulations, and a melting temperature comparable to lead-based babbitt formulations (about 475degF).... more »

Reshaping Flexon memory metal spectacle frames?

Are these adjustable at all?
I tried to bend the ear hook but of course it goes back to the original shape.
Google turned up a small number of pages with useful information indicating that
it's a Ti based memory metal, but I'm still not sure if I need to heat or cool
the metal before it can be bent into a new shape. I'm basically limited to -18... more »

Readily-available plastic with high softening temp?

I want to make a holder for a GPS in my car.
