Thanks very much
Ceremissian and Sirianian are distorted variants of Cheremis and
Zyryan, which in turn are old names for languages currently known as
Mari and Komi, respectively. Mari is a branch of the Uralic
(Finno-Ugrian) family in east-central Russia consisting of Hill/Western
Mari (30,000 speakers) and Meadow/Eastern Mari (close to 500,000
speakers). Komi belongs to the Permian branch (which also includes the
very closely related Permyak and the more distant Udmurt) of the same
family, and has nearly 250,000 speakers in north-eastern Russia. There
are numerous textbooks, grammars, dictionaries, and text collections of
both.
