Dehnungsbuchstabe
Is there an English equivalent for the German word Dehnungsbuchstabe ? In German, "h" and "e" are Dehnungsbuchstaben. For example, "ihn" is long and "in" is short; "Biest" is long and "bist" is short. -- From the New World: [link]
