I want to make subtitles on my video which I filmed at the Kennedy Space
center.
It is the same film from another person which is here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3e7N0uA5WEw
Could anybody please tell me what he says at 17:33 to 17:46.
I understand: "Mankind is about to leave its planet behind and journey to
another."
But I must understand it wrong because the moon is no other planet.
I understand: "It is one of those rare moments when history is not (???)
being made."
I think I hear it wrong, too.

Thank you!
Franz

Both are as you transcribed.

But it makes no sense.
1) Moon is no planet. If I translate it "verlässt ihren Planeten und reist
zu einem anderen" it is nonsense.
2) "History is NOT being made"? "Es wird NICHT Geschichte gemacht"? What is
the sense in this statement regarding the first flight to the moon?

Translation is not the same as making sense of a text,
or presuming such text is scientifically correct.

Perhaps these "NASA Kennedy Space Center Visitor center" people realy
think the moon to be a planet, a word like "der Himmelsk rper" not
existing as one word in English?

Garbage in = garbage out.

Anyway, as you are only providing subtitles, improving upon the original
is not out of the question, methinks.

Context, context.

You forget that the next word could be ", but", that in English can be
left out more easily than in German.

This is a special way of  using "... not just ..., but",
meaning here somthing like:
"not just history ..., but destiny ...".

The text you did not include is:
"..., destiny is being embraced."

"Es wird nicht NUR Geschichte gemacht, ABER die Zukunft wird begr t."
