Mark this date! Chance and I agree on something; something worth
noting indeed. OTOH, Bart, nyah nyah, nyah, you can't catch me!

Incidentally, Don, how far are you ahead of Bart?
Tell me, please, your birthdate so I as well as others
mark the day.

Thanks

Maybe I'm the one who should say "Thanks," Chance.

I'm happy to have made it. I saw two 76-year-olds in today's obits,
and two 78-year-olds, but 77 seems safe.

Only because my knees have started to bother me a bit. Lanikai 8K in
52:44 yesterday. :-(

But I didn't think you were still running, Don.

Oh, I bet you meant age-wise.

Bart, I wish you many, many more trips around the sun.

Since no-one else pointed it out, 77th birthday is 喜寿 (kiju).
Congratulations to Bart.

Wise bey9nd y0ur years, Bart. :-) Haven't run for about a year now;
my wife is slowly recovering from a problem that is still keeping her
off her feet, so there's a lot she can't do physically and I have to
fill in in the interim. Meantime my stamina and strength are draining
away. I walk on days when I can get out, but it's not the same as
running, for sure. If and when I can build back up to a reasonable
level I'd like to start again, but it may never happen. Any way it
falls out, I've had a good run. :-)

Well, I'm glad to have you around some more, sensei. Happy Birthday!

I'm just a lurker over here, but I'll join the rest and send my best
wishes to Bart for his birthday (a bit late, I know). Happy birthday, Bart!

It's so long since I've written, or even read, anything in sousho, that
had completely slipped my mind! Thanks for reminding me. I think I get
to celebrate that all year, don't I?

Yes, now I remember! Kome!

I suppose I might as well shoot for it. I used to have doing the first
100 annual Great Aloha Runs, an eight-mile charity run in Honolulu, which
would have got me to 148, whatever -juu that is, but with 27 down and 73
to go, I'm starting to think I'll be lucky to make the first 30! :-(

Beat or equal what you already knew you can do. Go.

Thank you, Bart. Reading slj has been a real eye opener for me. I've been
trying to grok Japanese and all those threads where there's a comment
from you, Jim Breen, Ben Bullock, mirror, chance and many others are very
interesting and worthy for a newbie like me. Even more if I consider the
scarcity of good info regarding Japanese language in my mother tongue
(Spanish).
