In a joint press conference held tonight by American president, Obama and himself,
Japanese premier, Hatoyama, near at the end of the conference, referred
to Japan's future contributions for Afghanistan, including US$ five billion in aid,
but, coming to the part for the tranining of Afghan security forces, he slipped
by saying 'Taliban forces' instead of 'Afghan forces'. He apparently didn't know
what he was talking about.

In connection with this, Hatoyam's speech given in English at the UN general meet
earlier this year was an embarassment in view of the fact that he had studied
at Stanford Univeristy for a while.

What little of this foretell of Hatoyama's government, which is now riding
high on popularity rating? To the contrary of high expectations borne
by Japanese people, his govenrment would be going to fail miserably
more than his predecessors, debunking the myths of himself and Ozawa.
