The modern version is the HP-32, I pretty sure it is still in production.
Service Merchandise and the office suply stores usually have them. I use
mine at work weekly to convert HMS to HH.HHHH.

I don't know if this will help, but remember that the older Hewlett-
Packard calculators (HP-15C, HP-67, HP-45, etc) will convert polar
coordinates to rectangular and vice versa with a push of a button. You
sometimes see these antiques from the 70' and 80's at swapmeets.

Good luck,

John

Casio scientific calculators, no need for fanciful models, they go for about
$20 around here have degree-min-sec to decimal conversion both ways and are
powered by solar with battery backup. Yes, it handles radians.

Alternatively you can use 60 as the converting constant.

This gets asks every few months. I recommend you go to
http://www.mentorsoftwareinc.com
They have a "Freebie" there to do this as well as nice ones to do other
things including a new one to do MGRS conversions that I did not see them
announce here as they usually do.

You don't really need a program to do this.

1) For D.DD to DMS just multiply the decimal portion of the degree
measurement by 60. This will give you minutes. Then multiply the decimal
portion of the minutes measurement by 60. This will give you seconds.
DONE!
2) To change degrees to radians just multiply by Pi/180 or 0.0174533.

Just out of curiosity, why would you want to use radians?

I've got the opposite (d2r) in gccalc.c in OZPD from
www.kerravon.w3.to. Public domain C source.

I have an Excel-based program which does this and more. I started it in
1994 with simple distance conversions, and it has developed since.

It currently contains back-and-forth conversions for units of:

Distance; Speed; Pressure; Aircraft loadings & Aspect ratio;
Thrust; Power, Temperature; Weight; Fuel volume/weight, Volume;
Area; Noise; RF Wavelengths; Angles Rad/Deg/Min/Sec;
Wind components, Inter-pupil distance (IPD) and angles,
Rectangles and pixel counts, Probabilities and multiples of Gaussian
standard deviations (sigmas).

Anyone wishing to see and experiment please email and I will send a
zipped copy, 34kB, but bear in mind that I am away 17-27 May. Comments
and criticism welcome.

Actually you can enter this conversion function into any $39.95 programmable
Radio Shack calculator now. And I just checked: my quite old RS non -
programmable scientific calculator makes most of these conversions with the
push of one button. I think it was $35 or so about 10 years ago.
