I'm not sure about the favorites or map file locations for installs with
a write protected SD card. I am using unprotected cards with all the
map files on the SD card. You should find the map folders on your PDA
I'd think and, if it is like mine, it will be a folder with the same
name as the map.
On the SD card, each map folder has a file named *.cfg file with the
name name matching the folder. As an example, a map named California is
in a folder named California and the favorites are in a file named
California.cfg.
I have copied a *.cfg file from one map folder to another, renamed it to
match the new map folder, and the favorites appeared when I used that
map. You'll lose the favorites that were in the *.cfg file that was
already there if you overwrite it of course.
Itineraries are all stored in one folder named ITN. You can get your
favorites into another folder fairly easily by adding them to an
itinerary and saving it. Then you can open that itinerary from any map,
map view each listed waypoint or destination, and add it to the
favorites for the map folder in use.
Of course, any favorites that are not located within the confines of the
map in use will be ghosted out or have a red line through them and
cannot be used. So the main use for the moving favorites trick is to
get them from a regional map to the national map.
