I placed another stash yesterday, up on Mt St Helens, WA... That makes for 3
of them near the mountain... You could have a whole day of stash hunting
getting all 3!

More info on the webpage.

I just did that today, with my two kids.
Found all three without a map. Had to do a little back tracking
a couple times though. Great way to get to know my new GPS
and the explore new territory.

Thanks!

...and here's the first equatorial divine stash <smile>.

The coordinates are N/S 0° E 36°.

Due to the people who live in the area, it was not possible to
actually stash away anything. The box I brought was turned into
direct gifts.

Thus we have the first virtual stash now. Approx. 40 m to the
south of the meridian-equator crossing there is a tree. I carved
a short message into its bark on the northern side in big
letters, several inches in size, easy to read. (Took me over
half an hour.) Whoever sends me an email with the text will get
entered into the virtual logbook for that stash and published
here and on my Web site and on anybody else's Web site who wants
it. My email address is hans-georg©michna.com (replace the
copyright character with the at sign to get the real address).

Please take a knife and improve the letters a little by carving
them a bit deeper to keep them easily visible. The wood is hard,
but a sharp knife does the job.

A small hint---at first I went there the hard way, by pointing
my jeep straight towards the point, off about 90° from the
nearby main road, and driving straignt towards it. It's only a
few kilometers, but it took me hours of rather difficult driving
including one river crossing, where I had to drive through the
water, then up a steep slope where I was actually worried about
the jeep falling over backwards.

After finding the place, it turned out that there are easier
ways to get there. Getting back to the road took me much less
than an hour. A good map would certainly help. So don't do it
the hard way.

But then I don't expect this stash to be found all too often, if
ever.

Are we crazy or what? At least for me I can say that I'm
childish at times <wide grin>.

p.s. Now for a good stash in Europe---that should be much easier
for me, looking at the Alps, cllearly visible on good days from
my home. One of those peaks ...
