Has anyone done a head-to-head comparison of the C-Map NT mapping system
(such as is used on Magellan, Standard Horizon marine GPS units) and the
Navionics G-Chart system (used by Garmin and Raytheon)?

I notice that Navionics lets you "look" at their charts online at
navionics.com, but I can't find anything like that for C-Map (that would
allow me to compare details, etc.).

Any input would be appreciated...

Raytheon use mainly C-map NT. Lately, on their low-end models they have
used Navionics as a budget choice.

C-map have a CD with all (?) their charts with samples... I just bought a
plotter, and decided it should be a C-map NT plotter. I don't know much of
the difference myself, but at least for my area, most people seem to
recommend C-map as a the better choice over Navionics, even Raytheon here
recommended C-map over Navionics, although they sell units for both systems.
Some magazines that did tests here also recommended C-map.
